NIO was founded in 2014 and is now among the leading manufacturers of premium electric vehicles. With three brands – NIO, ONVO and firefly – the company has Research and Development (R&D) centers and production facilities in more than 10 locations, and has built a sales and service network across 24 countries and regions, including China, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Central America. NIO House is located in the Athens 14 building, in Kifissia, at the 14th kilometer of the Athens–Thessaloniki National Road, and combines premium electric mobility with art, design and innovation.

Before its connection with NIO, Athens 14 served as the Athens extension of Fougaro Nafplio, hosting artworks from a private collection and periodic art exhibitions. From 2018, it operated as a space for culture and creative expression, bringing the artistic identity of Fougaro to Athens. This journey links the history of the space with NIO’s philosophy, which emphasizes innovation, design and the human experience.
